This XL oval bowl doubles as a top pull yarn bowl and collectible home decor! It's loaded with unique features from its interesting oval shape, to a distinctive band of stippling between the top rolled edges, to a generous vein of sparkle inlay down the west side and a nicely detailed raised base. Oversized at 5-3/4” (top opening diameter) X  6” deep, circumference is 30-1/2" around the midpoint –find out more on choosing the right size yarn bowl and how we measure our yarn bowls using diameter and circumference here.

Specifically designed to hold the largest ball of worsted it also prevents most yarn cakes from collapsing with smooth pulling from the top for your yarn on the hook. We call our (Large and) XL yarn bowls "workhorse" bowls because this is the tool you'll grab for every #WIP. While its designed for large skein single balls and cakes, this bowl is perfect for small to medium yarn projects –think mandalas, coasters, hats, scarves, socks, gloves or any Little Box of Crochet project to name a few. And, the pleasing hopi style makes this bowl "paw proof" to ward off overenthusiastic pets.

Made from local fresh pecan it was crafted and cured over a six month period resulting in buttery wood tones with interesting outer/inner bark layers finished smooth as silk front and center. The pretty double rolled rim settled into a slightly oval shape in the drying process with minimal warping. Twenty coats of finish were applied and hand-buffed with a final coat of imported museum wax to resist fingerprints and stains. One-of-a-kind, signed and numbered by the artist; #1175 with "Pecan" (species) engraved as well. Dimensions listed are approximate.
