This medium cherry yarn bowl is designed for smooth pulling up to a generous 5 oz. (skein) ball of yarn, and so much more! At 6-1/4” diameter x 4” tall with a circumference of 20" at the mid-point, it also perfectly accommodates up to 5 +/- oz yarn cakes (see photos). Just feed your yarn into the Fibonacci spiral groove, then load the cake upside down for smooth pulling. The silky "Fibonacci" spiral yarn groove, pretty wood tones, and grains are accented by a highly polished finish to hold up brilliantly over time. The pretty cherry tones will darken over time and exposure to UV rays. Ideal yarning at home; the compact profile and curved top make it "tote" ready and perfect for travel projects. Just stick it in your bag and go.
Bob rarely makes medium yarn bowls -the work steps are the same as our Large+ pieces. Occasionally he'll turn a couple of smaller specimens rather than waste the wood. This piece is one of three mediums (2 on this site, and 1 on our Etsy site) at this posting. It was hand-sanded/finished over seventeen times to a reflective glossy finish, enhanced by a final coat of museum wax to resist fingerprints.
