​This XXL yarn bowl set is a useful heirloom that's magnificent to look at when your wip is set aside. The starburst groove is perfectly placed front and center, set in light - medium golden cherry wood tones that will deepen over time.
Outside dimensions are 8" top opening diameter (paw-proof) x 7-1/2" high including a 3/8" base for added ballast. Circumference is 29" around the middle. It's hard to imagine just how big our bowls are in photos –find out how to choose the right size bowl for your work style; and how we measure these bowls using diameter vs. circumference here. Then go find a small bucket and measure it for comparison!
​This yarn bowl loves all yarn weights. It's handy for smooth pulling HUGE single balls of worsted up to blanket yarns through the groove. Or, load a GIANT 16oz. skein placed/fed tail end down. Perfect for those that hate the ball rolling process, right? This technique also works with oversized yarn cakes prone to collapse. The small glass cup "hub" is included to keep smaller balls of worsted or several dk/fingering wght. balls, top pulling for peak efficiency. Yarn work becomes more organized, portable and pleasing.

Hand crafted over a four month period; over eighteen coats of finish/hand-buffing bring out the rich character of the wood tones and super shine. A final coat of imported museum wax is added to resist fingerprints and stains. Dimensions listed are approximate. One-of-a-kind, signed and numbered; #2314 with "Cherry" (species) engraved as well.
